Vision Statement:

At BCICT we envision a world where all people achieve their learning potential.

Mission Statement:

BCICT is a provider of Fast ForWord and was incorporated in December 2005 and commenced providing grinds and study to Leaving Certificate students in January 2006. However it became apparent that sometimes grinds were not the right approach when there was an underlying cognitive problem. These ' brain problems needed to be correct first' before any sort of reasonable reading and learning could be achieved, so after much research we started providing Fast ForWord in June 2006.

For years scientists have studied the human brain, carrying out research into Learning disabilities and difficulties. While there is still some way to go a computer programme called "Fast ForWord" which can correct Reading and Learning disabilities and difficulties, is proving popular amongst parents in Galway, seeking to help their children with such difficulties.

BCICT is located in the Unit 6, Glenrock Business Park, Ballybane, Galway. To date BCICT has helped over 500 participants in Galway who have presented with either a  Specific Learning Disability or a General Learning Difficulty.

James Lee, BS.c(H), PG Bio Tech, HDip, EIQC(M), MS.c BioEng(H),JTEFL.

James is a graduate of NUIG, with a BSc in Physiology, HDip in Education, and an Honours Master in Biomedical Engineering. James also has a post grad in Biotechnology, along with a Diploma in Quality Management, and a Diploma in Pharmacology.

James taught for 15 years in Ireland, and in Australia. James's masters was in BioMedical Engineering, hence his interest and understanding of the workings of Fast ForWord's brain plasticity programme.

Griffin Tuition (BCICT) the story so far

Griffin Tuition (BCICT) was incorporated on the 6th of December 2005 and operated in Oranmore until relocating to NUIG in 2010. Griffin Tuition was set up by James and Maeve Lee both from Galway. Initially Griffin Tuition provided grinds and study for Leaving Certificate students, albeit, after a year James concluded that sometimes children needed more than just school, grinds or study to be able to learn and read. It became apparent that if there was an underlying cognitive problem, school or grinds were not the solution. The solution lay in how to strengthen existing neural pathways in the person’s brain and create new one so as the brain could deal with incoming data, irrespective of its nature or complexity. For a child or teenager to learn, their cognitive functions needed to be fully integrated and functional, otherwise grinds may not be as effective as they should be.
